The Way I See It

I thought you might enjoy this story about a young boy who learns to see the world in a new way.

Jack loved playing outside in the trees next to his backyard. One day, he noticed something glittering out of the corner of his eye. He discovered a pair of small, round glasses. Intrigued, he placed them on his face and couldn’t believe how everything looked differently through the lenses of the glasses. The trees were taller, their leaves were fuller, colors were more vibrant, and the world was brighter and more beautiful than he could’ve imagined!

Jack wore the glasses on the playground the next day where he noticed a boy crying by the monkey bars. The boy was new to the school and didn’t have any friends. Jack comforted him and gave his glasses to the boy, who immediately smiled ear to ear as he saw how beautiful everything looked. As Jack watched the boy, he realized that everything still looked beautiful even without the glasses. His experience wearing the glasses had changed the way he saw the world, and he knew that he would never be the same again.

Here’s the way I see it: Henry David Thoreau once said it best, “It’s not what you look at that matters, it’s what you see.” We’d love to help you approach your print marketing ideas with a new perspective! Ask how we can help today!

How Magnetic Marketing Cements Customer Loyalty
MARKETING THAT STICKS

412-woman-glasses.jpg

A pesky fly. A trusty boomerang. An old penny. In life, some things are fleeting, but others just keep coming back. In business, you have a substantial impact on the “coming back” of your patrons. Effective entrepreneurs know that the key to maximizing customer value is by growing retention and increasing repeat business.

How can you make your marketing magnetically attractive to new and existing clients? Through two systematic strategies: front and back end marketing. As you develop these priorities, seek to continually present answers to these two questions:

  1. “What’s Great?”
  2. “What’s New?”

Front-End Marketing

Front-end marketing refers to outreach that attracts leads, prospects, or customers. This type of word-of-mouth marketing is extremely beneficial because what others say about you is ten times more believable than what you say about yourself.

How do you grow referral marketing? Walt Disney said it like this: “The way to be very successful in marketing is to do what you do so well that people can’t resist telling others about you.”

“What’s Great?” You are!

Blow people away with your creativity, quality, or generous service. When you do, immediately ask for a referral. For example, when your client says, “Wow, this is fantastic!” say something like, “Hey, you know we’re trying to grow our business, and we really depend on clients like you to get the word out. Could you help?”

Have business cards or referral forms ready and ask clients to write down three names and contacts on the spot. Or send several promo flyers and coupons with them and challenge them to give them to friends by the end of the week. This is a fast, very soft request that costs you next to nothing.

Back-End Marketing

Bored customers tend to look elsewhere, so back-end marketing should push you to reinvent your business frequently. It’s important that you always have an answer to that “What’s New?” question. Whether it’s a new widget, streamlined incentive program, or a fresh service package, regular content keeps your vision energized and your base encouraged.

As part of your regular content, your business should have a monthly newsletter hitting customer doorsteps each month. Why? Printed newsletters have greater perceived value, a higher open rate, and a more memorable, influential presence.

Your monthly newsletter should highlight your uniqueness and confirm the value people are receiving through your business. Demonstrate your industry authority in ways that are helpful to customers as you talk about problems you know they have: time management strategies, outsourcing options, technology helps, etc.

Also, include lighthearted content just for the sake of fun: cartoons, jokes, or embarrassing moments from your staff. Finally, keep featuring “what’s new” with Q/A articles, product promos, testimonials, and more.

Engaged, interested customers buy more frequently and refer more often. Every business will benefit from front- and back-end marketing strategies!

Promoting with Facebook Live
A FUN AND FREE WAY TO COMMUNICATE WITH YOUR AUDIENCE

Facebook Live is a live video streaming feature on Facebook that allows you to broadcast a live video through your company page or personal profile. After the video ends, it will be published to your company page or profile so that those who missed it can watch at a later time.

Here are a few tips for using Facebook Live:

  • Announce when you are going to broadcast live. This is a great way to build anticipation and a way to reach more people.

  • Consider teaming up with another company or influencer to increase your exposure.

  • Use Facebook Live to showcase events for people who can’t attend in real life, or offer an exclusive look behind the scenes.

  • At the beginning of every Facebook live video you are doing, briefly introduce yourself and say what your video is going to be about.

  • Encourage conversations with your followers. Field their burning questions, hear what's on their mind, and check out their live reactions to gauge how your broadcast is going.

  • Get creative telling your story with innovative tools like filters, themes, and effects.

  • Remember that mistakes can happen when you’re live, but that’s part of the charm of a live video. It is raw and spontaneous. You may say stumble over a word or two, but this makes you relatable, and viewers will connect with you.

  • Don’t forget a call to action at the end of your segment, such as asking your audience to attend an event, sign up for something, or simply like and share your broadcast.

  • Once your recording is done, you can share it to different pages you manage, your personal profile, groups, email it to your subscribers, and you can embed it directly on your website.

Extend Your Phone’s Battery Life
PRESERVE YOUR SMARTPHONE'S FASTEST-DEGRADING COMPONENT

If your phone is more than a year old, it’s likely you’ve noticed a decrease in battery life. Here are a few tips on how to preserve your smartphone’s fastest-degrading component:

Turn off Wi-Fi and Bluetooth when not in use, so your phone doesn't waste battery trying to find a new connection. If you don’t have Wi-Fi or cell coverage, you may also want to consider using airplane mode. However, if Wi-Fi is available, you should use it, since it saves data and uses less battery life.

Don’t charge your phone overnight. It only takes a few hours to get a full charge, and the rest of the time spent plugged in will only hurt your battery life in the long run.

Check your battery usage to see which apps take the most battery. For the iPhone, go to Settings > Battery and then scroll down to see which apps are using the most power. For Android, go to Settings > Battery > Battery Usage.

Ensure your phone is always updated since software updates often include advanced energy-saving technologies.

Turn off automatic app updates, which reduces the amount of activity happening in the background of your phone. On an iPhone, choose Settings > iTunes & App Store and then toggle off Updates under Automatic Downloads. On Android, open the Google Play Store and click the menu icon in the top left corner. Then choose Settings > General > Auto-update apps and switch it off.
